The Brooklyn City Schools is a comprehensive, PreK-12 public education institution dedicated to becoming the school district of choice where academic success is fostered by community collaboration and diverse educational opportunities. Fostering strong partnerships with all stakeholders, including parents, community members, as well as local businesses and organizations helps to provide resources that support the District’s mission to encourage, prepare and empower our students. The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce awards multiple teacher grants annually to Brooklyn City School teachers, enabling them to provide enhanced learning opportunities for our students. Through the Taste of Brooklyn event, the Chamber of Commerce raises funds for multiple college scholarships which give Brooklyn students significant financial assistance to pursue their educational goals. As the sponsor of the Hire-an-Intern Project, the Brooklyn Chamber helps subsidize Brooklyn businesses which hire Brooklyn High School seniors while keeping rising young workers in our community.
The dedicated teachers and staff of the Brooklyn City Schools are focused on meeting the unique learning needs of every child through engaging and effective instruction. Our students are provided with a diverse set of educational and co-curricular opportunities, which include Brooklyn High School’s new Journalism class where students create an online newspaper, dual enrollment courses through the University of Akron, Robotics class at the Middle School, athletics, as well as visual and performing arts groups.
