We would like to congratulate our 2018 Scholarship winners. Each student received a scholarship in the amount of $2,000. The recipients were in attendance at our June luncheon to receive their awards. Below is an impressive list of their accomplishments.
Isabel Pena
Isabel is a 2018 graduate of Brooklyn High School, graduating 2nd in her class with an accumulative grade point average of 4.2. During her four years of high school, she played varsity soccer, basketball and ran track. She was a member of the concert band stage building crew, and excelled in many AP, honors, and post secondary classes. Along with her dedication to school, she has also volunteered time coaching youth basketball, worked at various school fundraisers, volunteered time with Neomed, and at Night to Shine (prom for special needs students). Isabel will be attending Ohio State University in the fall and plans on studying health and rehabilitation sciences with the goal to become a physician’s assistant.
Michael Kuznik
Michael is a 2018 graduate of St. Ignatius High School, graduating 12th in his class with an accumulative grade point average of 4.13. During his four years in high school, Michael played on the intramural basketball team, spent his summers playing for travel baseball, and earned the National Latin Exam Maxima Cum Laude award. He also participated in student senate and the Gonzaga Society Prayer Ministry. He was a member of the St. Joseph of Arimathea Pallbearer Ministry and he also volunteered his time with the Labre Homeless Ministry. Michael will be attending Ohio State University in the fall and plans on studying mechanical engineering.
