Large Business – City of Brooklyn
Each year, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce honors a large and small business as Members of the Year. Recipients of these awards are members that go above and beyond to support the Chamber and its mission. We are pleased to announce that this year’s Large Business Member of the Year is the City of Brooklyn. Since the Chamber was founded in 2002, the City has been an integral part of making the Chamber, our events, and our members a success in the Brooklyn community. Most recently, the City of Brooklyn has assisted the Chamber in their annual Picnic in the Park event. Mayor Gallagher and her staff worked very hard to make sure this event was successful and enjoyable for the Chamber and the Brooklyn community. Andi Udris, Economic Development Director, serves on our Board of Directors and was an integral part of the planning committee for this year’s event. We cannot thank them enough for their support and look forward to continuing our strong relationship for years to come! Small Business – Wally’s Auto Service
Wally’s Auto Service has been a permanent fixture in the City of Brooklyn for 35 years! Anyone that knows Wally Parker will tell you that you cannot find a more honest, reliable, or fair mechanic than Wally’s Auto Service. Besides being a successful business in the City, Wally’s Auto Service has also been a member of the Chamber since 2002. He has supported our annual events, such as the Taste of Brooklyn, though sponsorships and attendance, and has attended many of our monthly luncheons. Wally’s Auto Service was one of the recipients of this year’s business grant. He used these funds to help offset the cost of a new parking lot. Wally truly cares about the residents and businesses in the Brooklyn community. He has been extremely supportive of the Chamber’s mission and in making our events a success and is a true asset for both the Chamber and the Brooklyn community!
